Kyo Yakiniku Hiro Gion Yamanaan
Store managerTakeshi Hasegawa

After joining the company, I gained experience in front-of-house operations at the Kiyamachi store, Gion Yamanaan, and Kyoto Station store.
I was appointed store manager in my sixth year with the company, and I hold that position to this day.

My duties as store manager and what I am currently working on

Broadly speaking, there are three main areas: shift management, sales management, and employee staff training.
We also develop plans and strategies related to the store's budget.
Staff motivation significantly impacts store sales, so we place particular emphasis on training. We also take the lead in cleaning.
Recently, I've been involved in the launch of a new store. It's a big project, so there are many challenges, but the sense of accomplishment when it succeeds is immense, and I find it very rewarding. I will continue to work diligently and steadily, without fear of failure.

Thoughts towards staff (part-time employees)

I want to make sure that at least one person who works at this store feels that it was a good experience.
We want our employees to feel a sense of fulfillment and enjoyment by achieving their goals and overcoming challenges at Hiro.
I feel a great sense of gratitude towards our part-time staff. Most of our part-time employees are students. We want them to experience a sense of fulfillment and success that they wouldn't find anywhere else, not just as a way to earn money, before they enter the workforce.

Notes & mentions Q&A

If you had to describe Hiro in one word, what would it be?
If you have motivation and goals, they'll let you try anything without fear of failure.
What are some memorable failures you've experienced in your work so far, and how did you deal with them?
There was a period when I had difficulty communicating smoothly with the staff.
Especially during my first year as store manager, I was unable to gain the cooperation and support of the staff, and the store became completely dysfunctional, resulting in the worst possible situation.
That failure taught me the importance of communication with staff, and I'm always mindful of the relationship I have with them, from everyday conversations to training sessions. Of course, I do scold them sometimes, but I've come to realize the importance of praising and acknowledging them.
What I value most when it comes to work is
I value working diligently and steadily.
It means not being afraid of failure.
What does fulfillment mean to you?
The moment when customers are happy. When the store achieves results (sales targets or store initiatives).
A time when I can see the staff growing.
How do you spend your holidays?
Watching soccer
My dreams and goals for the future are
I want to experience personal growth through my work.

We look forward to receiving your entry.
We'll be waiting for your visit sincerely.
